The Boyfriend School Play
PUPILS at St John’s-on-the-Hill really got into the swing of things with their Year 7 and 8 play The Boy Friend.
Performed over two nights on Thursday and Friday 21st and 22nd of March, the audience was enthralled by the tale which
is set in the French Riviera during the 1920s. Polly – played by Morgan Williams of Year 7 – is an English heiressPhoto from The Boyfriend
attending the finishing school, run by Mme Dubonnet (Marina Waldron of Year 8).
Polly falls in love with delivery boy Tony (Jack Waters, Year 7) and much revelry ensues, with mistaken identities and fabulous
humour being the order of the day!
Those in attendance remarked that the play was amongst the finest they’d seen in their child’s time at the Chepstow school
- praise indeed for newly-appointed Head of Drama Holly Brigden.
“We are so lucky to have so many talented children. The singing and acting was of the highest standard and they worked so hard to create a very special production. I am so proud of all of them!” said Miss Brigden.
