The Academic Enrichment lecture was last night delivered by Dr Keith Rose from Wycliffe College. There was standing room only in the audience as Dr Rose delivered a lecture on the functions of the periodic table. His refined enthusiasm and his story telling of the history of the discovery of the elements held the audience in rapture. At the end of his talk there was an opportunity for the children and parents to closely examine some of the specimens that he brought with him. It was a fantastic evening and there are sure to be more budding scientists amongst the St John’s children as a result.

The final lecture of this year’s series will be held on 24th April and delivered by Henry Price, the Headmaster of Wellington College. The title is Homer’s The Illiad. We look forward to another large audience which really does make this series worthwhile.
