The Uisge Contra Band performed at St John’s on-the-Hill Preparatory School’scharity ceilidh on Monday 12 June. The event raised more than £300 for Help for Heroes and the Noah’s Ark children’s charity.

Dave Mitchell, St John’s Director of Music, said: “It was wonderful to see the school hall filled with eager parents and pupils. Their energy and effort levels were outstanding and we rattled through the Circassian Circle, Gay Gordons and the Flying Scotsman.Everyone left exhausted but looking forward to another ceilidh next year! We would like to thank everyone for their enthusiastic support.”

Many local businesses donated raffle prizes including, Johnny Hathaway, Runway, J’adore, Bright and Beauty, All About Eve, Chepstow Racecourse, Chepstow Garden Centre andEden Rose.
