MARSHMALLOWS round the fire and the Leap of Faith. Just two of the unforgettable experiences that Year 5 enjoyed on their overnight camp in Parkend on Saturday 16 September.

Arriving late on Saturday afternoon, there was just time to sort out rooming arrangements and go for a quick exploration of the adventure areas and tunnels, before it was time for fish fingers, chips and beans, all washed down with a choc ice!

Knowing that a full morning of adventure lay before them, the children enjoyed a relaxing evening of a roaring camp fire, marshmallows, sharing stories and lots of laughter.

Then it was back to base for hot chocolate and a movie.

The next day soon arrived and, after a hearty breakfast, it was time to go to the adventure area, where pupils all took part in activities such as zip-wire, climbing wall and – the piece de resistance – the Leap of Faith. Swallowing their fear, the pupils rose to the challenge and soared through the air. Home time then came all-too-quickly. The children all had a lovely time and will be able to look back on a time where friendships were made and team work was crucial.
