Not content with an A in January, Charlie Davies who joined Clifton College this September, resat the Cambridge iGCSE Mathematics exam in the midst of taking his scholarship exams. While 16 year olds around the country were collecting their GCSE results on Thursday 23rd August, Charlie made the nervous journey to St John’s to open the email showing his result. Charlie was delighted to see a star next to the A when the email was opened. Matt Allen, Head of Mathematics at St John’s, said: “I was very proud. Charlie was so determined to achieve his goal of an A*. It is something we try to instil in all our pupils at St John’s, to never give up.”
