Coffee#1 in Chepstow joined forces with St John’s on-the-Hill School to raise funds for the Samaritans by hosting a Carol singing evening on Wednesday 4th December.
St John’s were chosen to launch the Carols at Coffee#1 Christmas fundraising drive having participated at an event at the Principality Stadium Cardiff on Monday 28th October. 31 children from St John’s led store managers in carol singing at the event, to inspire the Coffee#1 team to partner with local schools and host carol singing events at all Coffee#1 stores.
Bruce Newman, Managing Director for Coffee#1, commented: “Christmas can be a difficult time of year for many people. Carols at Coffee#1 is a great way to bring people together to enjoy some festive singing over a hot chocolate and mince pie.
“The children from St John’s did a brilliant job of showing Coffee#1 store managers how to have fun singing carols.”
Emma Laidlaw-Height, Head of Vocal Performance at St John’s, added: “The school was delighted to be invited by Coffee#1 to support fundraising for this great charity. The children did amazingly well at both events and it was brilliant to see everyone singing along to the carols that were performed. We are looking forward to supporting future events.”
Coffee#1 has raised more than £53,000 for the Samaritans, through team-led fundraising initiatives.
