Brightlands Boarding House has a strong family atmosphere and boarders feel safe, happy and at home. It has six dormitories capable of housing 36 pupils. Boys and girls share a lounge, kitchen and games room. Bathrooms and dormitories are split, with a separate floor for boys and one for girls.
We have a comfortable, spacious lounge with controlled access to Sky+, sports and movies, lots of reading books, board and computer games. Our games room is equipped with table football and a pool table. We also have computers and work spaces for pupils to email or work from the school ICT system in their free time.
St John’s offers its pupils the chance to experience boarding life through flexi-boarding opportunities whether it be for a night, weekend or longer. For more information please contact our Head of Boarding, Will Warwick.
St John’s has a long-standing association with the military and a number of our current and past boarders have come from military families. As such, we are acutely aware of the pressures and difficulties faced by pupils whose families are involved in active service. This experience is invaluable in helping us to provide the best possible support for our boarders and their families.
We have close links with parents and are flexible to meet their needs. We offer children the structure and support they need to grow and flourish both in and out of the classroom.
We are very proud of our pupils and the open and friendly atmosphere at St John’s. Please contact us if you would like more information, to visit, or speak to our house parents about boarding at St John’s.
